Dexter Jackson

Avid digital modeller and enjoyer of all things 3D CG, probably stemming from a love of video games. Virtually all of my projects tend towards becoming an exploration of 3D forms in some way or another, admittedly sometimes at a detriment to the project I’m working on. I find great fun in making whatever comes out of my mind, regardless of how useful it ends up being.

A multiform light fixture: Kinetic shadows – an exploration of 3D modelling.

The design includes both complex shapes and kinetic movement in an attempt to create an interesting interplay between light and shadow. The lamp consists of two concentric rings that rotate in opposite directions due to an internal gear structure and is hand driven, allowing the user to decide when and how much to adjust the shadow patterns of the lamp. The structure also allows for said rings to be interchangeable, creating different forms and shadow patterns based on the user’s preference.
